Bus Pick up and Drop off Schedules:
Good Morning New Horizons Parents and Guardians,
I hope everyone is having an amazing holiday break with family and friends. Our team, along with several amazing parents, have successfully moved all our materials to our new school. New Horizons will plan to host an open house at the new school on January 5th, 2026 at 12pm. We are excited for all of you to come see the school. We will begin at the new school on January 6th. If dropping off kids by car, please plan to pull into parking lot in back off school off Victory Blvd. When coming to parking lot, please come down Victory Blvd heading EastBound. It will be impossible to turn into parking lot if traveling Westbound on Victory from North Hollywood. Students walking to school can enter school from the front of the school on Friar Street. Please let me know if you have any questions. With Gratitude, Mr. Thomas, Executive Director/Principal

School Community Message Material Revision Friar Street
Good Morning Parents and Guardians and Alumni of New Horizons Charter Academy, I hope everyone is well as you approach the Thanksgiving holidays. New Horizons Charter Academy has much to be thankful for. We have amazing students and staff that sacrifice everyday to make things better for themselves. Our school has been on a Prop39 split site situation for 10 years, with our TK-4th on one site (lease expired this year) and our 5th through 8th on a Prop39 site. We had to squeeze our TK-4th graders onto the co-location with our 5th to 8th graders this year. It’s not easy to find a property in North Hollywood. We have finally found a potential future property to move to next school year. However, because its 4 miles from our current site, we had to complete a Community Impact Assessment and submit a material revision to our Charter with request to move to the new facility. We have jumped through all the hoops to get this to the district and now we have our public hearing before the LAUSD Board on December 12th at the Headquarters of LAUSD at 12:30pm. I have stood at multiple LAUSD Board meetings and rallies over the years, standing up to the board regarding charter renewals and Prop39 issues for many other Charter schools. I am asking, if you have some time on December 12th, to please come stand with our school in support of our move off the Prop39 site at this important LAUSD Board Meeting. Hopefully, you can get on the speaker card and share how important it is to have a Forever Home for our students and the challenges of being on a co-location site. If you can’t make it, maybe one of your amazing family members can come down. Please forward this email to anyone in the Charter community that can help us move the LAUSD Board in favor of our move. I thank you in advance, and wish for a positive outcome for our school community. Thank you.
