Good Afternoon Parents and Guardians,
The New Horizons Charter Academy Board of Directors approved the reopening plan. New Horizons Charter Academy will reopen for grades TK-5th Grade on March 15th, 2021. The school will send out notifications of which Cohort your student will be assigned to. There will be Cohort 1 – Monday/Wednesday and Cohort 2- Tuesday/Thursday. Friday will be no in-person instruction on campus. Students will attend school via Zoom with Asynchronous learning, assessments, teacher PD/office hours. Please see attached letter.
Good News!! As of March 1st, all educators working in the school setting have been given priority for vaccination against COVID19 virus. As of today, 50% of the teachers in TK-5th grade have been vaccinated, while the other remaining half have pending appointments this week to get vaccinated. It appears that by March 15th, all teachers will be vaccinated.
All Parents choosing to have their children remain in the Distant Learning Program must inform the New Horizons Charter Academy via phone call or email by Monday, March 8th.
NHCA has met all required safety measures outlined by the LA County Department of Health. NHCA passed the safety inspection made by the LA County Department of Health. NHCA is ready to serve your students.
NHCA will hold an information session on March 4th, Thursday at 11:00am and another information session on March 6th, Saturday at 11am. Please see Zoom link below.
All parents who plan to have their students attend will need to complete the following:
1) Download and register in the Brightwheel App (see website for instructions). An information session via Zoom will be held on Wednesday at 5pm regarding how to use Brightwheel App.
2) Read, Print and Sign NHCA Healthy Guidelines document attached.
3) Inform NHCA if you are choosing to continue with Distant Learning by March 8th next Monday.
