Home / Uncategorized / Important Update Regarding Breakfast and Lunch Distribution

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In response to NHCA’s closure, the demand for nutritious breakfast and lunch options from our population, and the small number of available Grab and Go Centers that LAUSD is offering, New Horizons Charter Academy is going to offer a similar Grab and Go Center from our Lankershim campus starting Thursday, March 19. Our Grab and Go Center will be open indefinitely until school has reopened or further notice. Our Center will be open from 10am-12pm every Monday-Friday.

We recommend, if possible, for you to drive as this will ease the distribution of meals. If driving, please pull up through Gate 1 during the hours of 10am-12pm and a school representative will be waiting to hand your children two meals, a breakfast and lunch option. If driving is not an option, parents may walk up to the hand gate adjacent to Gate 1, and a school representative will be there to hand you the two meals.

For some of our families, the Grab and Go Centers offered by the district will be closer to your house. We fully support and recommend that you visit the Center most convenient for you. Below are the names and addresses of the Centers, including NHCA’s.

Lankershim Campus: 5955 Lankershim Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91601

East Valley High School – 5525 Vineland Ave, North Hollywood, CA 91601

Roy Romer Middle School – 6501 Laurel Canyon Blvd, North Hollywood, CA 91606

Again, New Horizons will be offering two meals for any family who needs them, every Monday-Friday between the hours of 10am-12pm. We will begin food distribution Thursday, March 19. Please call our school office if you have any questions.

Our focus remains on providing continuity of learning for our students, supporting students and families most in need, and keeping our employees safe and connected to the school community so we can all continue to help kids.  We are so proud of your children and our teachers for taking the time to engage in our online learning program.  Please continue to keep routines going with our teachers, it’s so important.  Let us know how we can help.

Sincerely,

Mr. Thomas

Executive Director/Principal
